How to play One vs All
3D first-person shooter: 10 special forces soldiers, 5-minute respawn matches, with scavenge, loadout and melee modes.
Goal
You are a special forces soldier dropped onto a blocky map with 9 computer opponents. Everyone is an enemy; there are no teammates. The map is picked at random each match. Run through the streets, building sites and docks to find stronger guns, ammo, armor and healing items. Each match lasts 5 minutes. When you go down, you respawn 3 seconds later at one of the map's 10 fixed spawn points and are protected for the first 3 seconds. When time runs out, the player with the most kills wins (ties go to fewer deaths) and all 10 players line up by rank. Hold ~ to see the kills / deaths / assists (K/D/A) board.
Pick your outfit color before the match: your armband and the light outline around you use that color. The map is one of 6 places: Ruined Old Town, Abandoned Building Site, Canyon Quarry, Factory at Night, Container Port and Snowy Mountain Temple.
Game modes
- Scavenge: you start with only a pistol and a knife and must find your main gun.
- Loadout: choose your main gun first (SMG, rifle, shotgun or sniper rifle) and start with it, plus a pistol and a knife.
- Melee: no guns at all. Everyone has a knife and can pick up a short sword, katana, axe or spiked club.
Computer controls
- Click the screen to lock the mouse, then move it to look around. Press Esc to release it (the game pauses).
- W A S D to move, hold Shift to sprint, Space to jump (you can climb one-block steps), C to crouch (tighter aim, harder to spot). Your soldier speeds up and slows down with some momentum, so avoid sudden turns.
- Left click to shoot or swing, right click to aim: the gun comes up to your eye with a red dot, and the sniper rifle zooms through its scope.
- Q draws the knife (press again to go back to your gun), 1 2 3 or the mouse wheel switch weapons, R reloads, E picks up items, F uses a bandage or medkit.
- Tab or M opens the big map, P or Esc pauses.
Phone controls
- Turn your phone sideways. Put your left thumb on the left half of the screen to bring up the movement stick; push it further to run.
- Drag on the right half to look around. Hold FIRE to shoot; you can keep dragging that same finger to adjust your aim.
- Buttons: AIM, JUMP, CROUCH, RELOAD, KNIFE, SWAP (switch gun) and HEAL. TAKE only shows up near an item, and HOLD BREATH only while you look through a scope. Tap the minimap to open the big map.
Weapons
- Every bullet can fly across the whole map, but damage drops with distance, differently for each gun.
- SMG: very fast automatic fire, strong at short and medium range, about half power far away.
- Pistol: light, single shots, uses the same ammo as the SMG.
- Rifle: automatic and accurate, still about 70% power at long range. Fire short bursts to control the recoil.
- Shotgun: several pellets per shot, devastating up close but nearly harmless far away.
- Sniper rifle: full power at any range. The scope zooms about 4×, and the reticle sways gently as you breathe. Hold Shift while scoped to hold your breath for 2–3 seconds and steady it.
- Melee: you always have a knife. Pick up a short sword, katana (the longest), axe (slow but very strong) or spiked club (knocks enemies back). You can carry one melee weapon.
- Heavy hit: with a melee weapon, press right click (or G; the HEAVY HIT button on phones). Your soldier winds up three times slower than a normal swing, then smashes down for triple damage, hitting everyone in front and knocking them back. You move very slowly while winding up, so use it when the enemy is right next to you.
- Hit zones: headshots hurt the most (double damage, 2.5× with the sniper rifle), body shots deal normal damage, arms and legs less. Headshots have their own sound and a red hit marker.
Items
- Each gun uses its own ammo box (pistol and SMG share). You have 2 gun slots and 1 melee slot.
- Bandages heal a little but quickly, medkits heal a lot but slowly. They go into your bag; press F to use one. Armor blocks half of the damage until it wears out.
Tips
- Houses, containers, stone walls and sandbags are all good cover: bullets never pass through blocks. Hide behind something and heal when you are low.
- Crouch and aim before long shots: your bullets group much tighter than when you run and gun.
- Out of ammo? Draw the knife or an axe and close in. One axe hit to the head hurts more than a whole SMG magazine fired from afar.
