How to play Fruit Merge
Drop fruit and merge two of a kind into a bigger one.
Goal
You have a tall box and a basket of small fruit. Each turn a fruit appears above the box; pick a spot and let it fall. When two fruits of the same kind touch, they merge into one fruit a size bigger, right between the two. The new fruit can touch another of its kind and merge again — that is how chains happen.
From smallest to largest: cherry → strawberry → grape → tangerine → orange → apple → pear → peach → pineapple → melon → watermelon. When two watermelons touch, both disappear, freeing up space and giving you a big bonus.
The fruit you drop is always one of the 5 smallest kinds (cherry to orange). The top-right corner of the box shows the next fruit so you can plan ahead. Near the top of the box there is a red line: if any fruit stays above it for about 2 seconds, the box overflows and the game ends. The line starts blinking when things get close.
Scoring
Every merge earns points based on the size of the new fruit — the bigger, the more. Several merges within about a second make a combo, and each merge in the chain is worth extra. Your best score is saved; if you reload the page mid-game, your box is still there — press “Continue” to finish it.
Controls
- Phone: put your finger on the play area and drag left/right to aim, then lift it to drop. The faint line shows where the fruit will fall.
- Computer: move the mouse to aim and click to drop. Or use ← / → to move and Space / Enter / ↓ to drop.
- P or Esc pauses, M toggles the sound. Hiding the tab or switching apps pauses automatically.
Tips
- Keep fruit sorted by size towards one side (big ones in a corner, smaller ones next to them) so a freshly merged fruit lands next to its twin.
- Avoid trapping small fruit at the bottom between big ones — they are hard to free.
- Check the next fruit before deciding where to drop the current one.
- Round fruit rolls: dropping close to a wall keeps it from wandering.
