How to play Connect 4
Drop colored discs to connect four in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row.
Game Objective
Connect 4 (Four-in-a-Row) is the universally celebrated vertical strategy board game played on a standing frame of 7 columns by 6 rows (42 circular slots). Your goal is to take turns dropping your colored checkers from the top of the grid to align four consecutive discs of your color!
The winning line can run horizontally, vertically, or along either diagonal.
Gravity Drops & Tactical Traps
- Gravity Rules: Discs fall straight down inside the selected column, occupying the lowest open slot available.
- The Double-Threat Trap: Master players configure boards with two simultaneous four-in-a-row threats, forcing an unblockable win on the subsequent turn!
- Clutch Blocks: Watch your opponent's moves vigilantly. Whenever they assemble three in a row with open ends, immediately drop a blocking disc to shut them down.
Factions & Artificial Intelligence
You control the vibrant Red discs and move first; the smart AI opponent commands the Yellow discs.
Controls
- Desktop: Hover your mouse over any of the 7 columns to preview the drop column, then left-click to release the disc.
- Mobile / Touch: Tap any column directly on your touchscreen to drop your piece into place.
